My Travel Stories

01
Hunder, Ladakh
Sank into Nubra Sand Dunes—a surreal cold desert experience at 10,000 feet.
* My hotel, Lchang Nang Retreat, surprised me with a little picnic in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but mountains for company.

02
Spiti, Himachal Pradesh
Visited Tabo Monastery—over 1000 years old and deeply grounding.

03
Pangong Lake, Ladakh
Made it to Pangong —remote, stark, and absolutely worth the journey.
* At 14,200 ft, the altitude caught up with me a little. My thoughtful driver kept a close eye on my oxygen levels and made sure I had plenty of ginger-lemon tea.

04
Jibhi, Himachal Pradesh
Unwound in Jibhi—quiet trails, mountain views, and cosy homestays.
* The family I stayed with welcomed me around their fire pit, roasting fresh corn from their own field —a simple, lovely evening.

05
Mussoorie, Uttarakhand
Walked down Mall Road—busy, but part of the hill station charm.

06
East Sikkim
Drove up to Tsongmo Lake —yaks, thin air, and unreal mountain views.

07
North Sikkim
Reached Zero Point (15,300 ft)—the last motorable point before the India–China border, with nothing but snow and mountains.
* And you must try the brandy with coffee at the roadside shacks—a warm hug in the sub-zero cold!

08
Kolkata, West Bengal
Visited the Mother House—quiet, simple, and deeply moving.

09
Kovalam, Kerala
Did Kerala in the monsoon—lush, moody, and wildly beautiful.

10
Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu
Explored Chettinad homes and Athangudi tiles—but the highlight for me was a traditional 25-dish feast on a banana leaf in the heritage Visiri Hall at Chidambara Vilas—a favourite with international travellers too. Pre-booking is a must!

11
Bengaluru, Karnataka
Rode up to this stunning temple at Nandi Hills—best done early morning.

12
Agonda, Goa
Caught a crimson dusk at Agonda—perfect for slow, quiet beach evenings.
* The Beach Coast Resort, where I stayed, sits right on the beach—you can wake up to the sea from your bed.

13
Goa
Ate my way through South Goa—fresh seafood you shouldn’t miss.

14
Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu
Strolled the French Quarter—cafes, colour, and easy coastal vibes.
* Coffee Ideas is a must for coffee lovers—pick your blend and have it freshly ground for you.

15
Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra
Discovered it’s not just strawberries—berries everywhere in season.

16
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
Passing Rajasthani people in vibrant attire and camel caravans—a glimpse of timeless desert life.

17
Pune, Maharashtra
